Using S-video

I have an Athlon 3000 with and and FX5500 and I want to run s-video output through my 20" LCD TV with native 1366 x 768 resolution. However, the picture is very grainy even when using this resolution at 75 Hz. Is there any way to fix this?

S-Video is meant to carry the original 480- or 576-line NTSC or PAL video. It can't (reliably) do anything more.
