I had to reinstall Windows 2000 on my Vaio PCG-SR1k (a bit old, but very small + light) But now I can't re-install the correct video driver... Recovery disk 1/1 was scratched In the end, I used generic Win2k disk instead Now I can't get full screen resolution, just 800*600 + horribly pixelated (legacy VGA driver I think) Even though the _second_ recovery disk (2/2) contains the files \drivers\video\neo20xx.(dll,sys,inf) - which you would think should work - I can't get it to install + work It seems whichever display adapter type I install these files "as" (??does this make any difference??) the Device Manager always reports "error 10 : driver cannot start" Various websites tell me the adapter is a "NeoMagic MagicGraph256AV+". or "MagicMedia 256AV+" Drivers.com gives several alternative drivers, but they all seem to fail in the same way. I suppose I'm installing it wrong somehow... Does anyone know how to get this to work?? Many Thanks!
