2 days ago, the pc started freazing and the monitor started blinking.
After a few minutes the monitor would shut down and the only option i had was to shut down the PC by using the button.
When i restarted the pc there were strange characters displayed in DOS while the Pc was booting. When the windows loaded there was nothing to do but only restart the pc again.
I used safe mode and there was no problem. I unistalled the video card drivers and used the default generic windows driver. There was no problem either, when i loaded the windows in normal mode.
I have a Gainward GeForce 4400 video card with 128 Mb.
When i shuted down the Pc i checked if the video card was overheated but i didn't think it was.
What's the problem? Is the video card dead? And how it is explained that the default windows driver works while the nvidia driver won't, if it is a hardware problem?
