VIA (south bridge vt8235) sound controller - vinyl ac97

Hi, I just formatted and now I'm having trouble getting my audio driver to work that i downloaded from viaarena.com
It's the vinyl ac97 audio driver for vt8235 etc. My pc reboots at the end of installation, and detects the device on startup. This repeats until i disable the driver. I've tried uninstalling a couple of times. Does anyone know the problem maybe? :dead:

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Instead of downloading the drivers from the realtek site. Go to your mobo manufacturers website and download the correct sound drivers from there.

I also suggest that before you do that, you uninstall your current sound drivers from your device manager, and reboot your system.

Yeah the driver came from the via technologies download site, which they call viaarena.com
