    Lets say i dont have the latest drivers for my card. Can this lead to "glitches and choppy gameplay.

    Yes...
    Even if you do have the latest drivers, it can lead to "glitches and choppy gameplay"...

    A game can have a bug that means that no matter what driver you use, it won't work, but you'll have to wait for a patch... Or it could be that the drivers you are using has a bug, which has been fixed in a later version, you'll then have to upgrade.

    But why not just upgrade to the latest drivers? It's not hard, and unless they specify bugs in other games you play, should (hopefully) fix the problem you're experiencing...
