Viewing pictures on my iPad that are on my pc

Is it even possible? I've been googling the heck out of it & all I get is how to upload pics to my pc.
In short, If I'm in the living room & I want to see a picture I have on my computer, is there a way to do that? I've been emailing pics from my pc & viewing them on the iPad but that is not what I want to do.
The cloud/one drive aren't large enough or free. TIA

The basic setup is Print/File Sharing, but

• iPad == > PC would be I'm sure via iTunes.

We use

• iPad --> upload PC and then HD tv to access the PC files for slideshows.
