Virtual memory in Vista

  1. How much virtual memory would it be wise to configure on my system with Vista Ultimate x86 and 3 GB of memory?

    Depends on what programs you use often and how much data you manage with them.

    I'd give it a fixed size (min and max the same) of 1GB and see how that goes.

    What happens if I set it too low? Sometimes I use ArchiCad or Adobe Premier CS3 with heavy files, should I set a higher value?

    You will probably get a message telling you that virtual memory is too low. Then yes, set it higher. Try what I suggested first, if you get an error, then bump it up, nothing is going to explode.
