Virus Infested Computer

Hi Everyone :wave: !

My friend activated an ActiveX control on his browser and came down with a bunch of viruses/adware. He has a recurring task bar item that flashes with a Windows-Looking question mark, and "do not" sign. It redirects him to a website that sells "spylocked". Every once in a while it tells him that he needs this to rid of his spyware. I have attached a HijackThis log for analysis. I have found nothing wrong with the running processes. My friend has deleted many of the programs through Norton dead and Ad-Aware SE Personal. Any help would be much appreciated :grinthumb !

Your friends computer is infected with several nasties.

Tell your friend to do the following.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

Thank Howard :wave: ! I will followup soon...! I ran the online detector from Trend Micro, but after leaving the computer alone, watching Leprechaun 4, and then checking it again...it was still not done !
