  1. PLEASE HELP ME!

I saw that someone on here was able to go around it in DOS. I know absolute nothing about computers, but I was able to put it in safe mode with admin commands. I am hoping that there is some command of somesort that I can put in to go around it so that I can clean up my system.

I really hope that someone out there can help.

    Thanx, but ...

I was actually in the process of doing that when the thing took over. Unfortuanately, I cant do any of that right now. It has locked me out of my computer. When I log on it only shows that thing "scanning" vor viruses and then it tells me to pay $49.99 to get back into my computer.

I am able to get my computer into safe mode with command prompts. Is there anything I can do there to fix it?

Surely, there are several ways for us to get rid of the infection.
We just have to take it slowly.

Are you able to boot to regular Safe Mode, not with Command Prompt?

    Very good.
Restart in Safe Mode with Networking and....

Please download and run the below tool named Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) which may help allow other programs to run.

There are 4 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.

Vista and Win7 users need to right click Rkill and choose Run as Administrator

You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

    * Rkill.com
    * Rkill.scr
    * Rkill.pif
    * Rkill.exe

    * Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
    * If using Vista or Windows 7 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.
    * A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
    * If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
    * If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
    * Do not reboot until instructed.
    * If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

Once you've gotten one of them to run then try to immediately run the following.

    Now download and run exeHelper.

    * Please download exeHelper from Raktor to your desktop.
    * Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
    * A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
    * A log file named log.txt will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com
    * Attach the log.txt file to your next message.[/LIST]

Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

    ======================================================================

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
    1. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
    2. Close any open browsers.
    3. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
      • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
      • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
NOTE1. If Combofix asks you to install Recovery Console, please allow it.
NOTE 2. If Combofix asks you to update the program, always do so.
      • Close any open browsers.
      • WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
      • Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
      • If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
    4. Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    5. When finished, it will produce a report for you.
    6. Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Make sure, you re-enable your security programs, when you're done with Combofix.

DO NOT make any other changes to your computer (like installing programs, using other cleaning tools, etc.), until it's officially declared clean!!!

    Download HijackThis:
    http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/download
by clicking on Installer under Version 2.0.2
[DO NOT download version 2.0.3 (beta)]
    Install, and run it.
    Post HijackTHis log.
Do NOT attempt to fix anything!

NOTE. If you're using Vista, or 7, right click on HijackThis, and click Run as Administrator

I would really love to do all of that if I could, but unfortunately, I am locked out of my desktop. I can not do anything at all. I can not open anything, I cannot download anything. I read a post on here about someone having this same problem, but before anyone could respond to his question he figured it out himself. I need to know what he did.

It doesnt matter if I run windows normally, in safe mode, in safe mode with networking, all i get are the same results. This thing has taken over and will not let go until I give it my cc info (which i dont plan on doing).

    Any other suggestions?

Let's see, if we can look at your computer booting from an external source.

You will need USB flash drive to move information from bad computer to a working computer.

You need to download two programs.

    First

ISO Burner this will allow you to burn REATOGO-X-PE ISO to a cd and make it bootable. Just install the programm, from there on it's fairly automatic (Instructions)

    Second

    • Download OTLPE.iso and burn to a CD using ISO Burner. NOTE: This file is 270.3 MB in size so it may take some time to download.
    • When downloaded double click and this will then open ISOBurner to burn the file to CD
    • Reboot your system (Non working computer) using the boot CD you just created.
      • Note. If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps HERE
    • Your system should now display a REATOGO-X-PE desktop.
    • Double-click on the OTLPE icon.
    • When asked Do you wish to load the remote registry, select Yes
    • When asked Do you wish to load remote user profile(s) for scanning, select Yes
    • Ensure the box Automatically Load All Remaining Users is checked and press OK
    • OTL should now start. Change the following settings
      • Change Drivers to All
      • Change Registry to All
      • Under Custom Scan box paste this in:

        netsvcs
        %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
        /md5start
        eventlog.dll
        scecli.dll
        netlogon.dll
        cngaudit.dll
        sceclt.dll
        ntelogon.dll
        logevent.dll
        iaStor.sys
        nvstor.sys
        atapi.sys
        IdeChnDr.sys
        viasraid.sys
        AGP440.sys
        vaxscsi.sys
        nvatabus.sys
        viamraid.sys
        nvata.sys
        nvgts.sys
        iastorv.sys
        ViPrt.sys
        eNetHook.dll
        ahcix86.sys
        KR10N.sys
        nvstor32.sys
        ahcix86s.sys
        nvrd32.sys
        symmpi.sys
        adp3132.sys
        mv61xx.sys
        userinit.exe
        explorer.exe
        /md5stop
        %systemroot%\*. /mp /s
        %systemroot%\system32\*.dll /lockedfiles
        %systemroot%\Tasks\*.job /lockedfiles
        %systemroot%\system32\drivers\*.sys /lockedfiles
        %systemroot%\System32\config\*.sav
    • Press Run Scan to start the scan.
    • When finished, the file will be saved in drive C:\OTL.txt
    • Copy this file to your USB drive.
    • Please post the contents of the C:\OTL.txt file in your reply.
