Virus removal - Followed preliminary protocol and logs attached

I thank you in advance for any time involved with looking into the logs and helping me solve my problem.

Problem started on Thursday, November 1st and I have spent the day following your preliminary protocol as closely as possible.

Please find attached the log files from HJT, Combofix and AVG Anti-spyware.

Also, the rootkit program showed no root kit problems when finished.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You didn`t say what the problem was.

Delete all files in AVG Antispyware quarantine.

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the code box below into it:
NOTE* make sure to only highlight and copy what is inside the quote box nothing out side of it.
Also ..

Pay particular attention to this :-

Make sure the word File:: is on the first line of the text file you save (no blank line above it, & no space in front of it)

Save this as CFScript.txt

Then drag the CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.

This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a fresh HJT log.

Security Toolbar 7.1/BestSelling AntiVirus infection

I believe this is what started the endless stream of pop-ups, security triangle alerts and system messages saying I have all kinds of worms, viruses, etc.

Anyway, I followed the initial instructions and here are the new Combo log and HJT log.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {EA756889-2338-43DB-8F07-D1CA6FB9C90D} - (no file)

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{00D6A7E7-4A97-456f-848A-3B75BF7554D7} - (no file)

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - (no file)

O2 - BHO: AOL Toolbar Launcher - {7C554162-8CB7-45A4-B8F4-8EA1C75885F9} - (no file)

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {DE9C389F-3316-41A7-809B-AA305ED9D922} - (no file)

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {0BF43445-2F28-4351-9252-17FE6E806AA0} - (no file)

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT and reboot your system.

Post a fresh HJT log.

Your HJT is clean.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

Now, turn system restore back on. This will have deleted all your old restore points and any nasties that are in them. It will also have created a new, clean restore point.
