Virus software issues

I have AVG as virus protection, and I also use Spybot. I have a virus on my computer that will not let me connect to receive updates for either program. I cannot connect to avg.com and the spybot website at all. Interestingly, I also cannot connect to other virus software websites, such as mcafee or avast. Has anyone else experienced this problem and know how to get rid of it?

A common symptom of malware is the inability to update security programs. If necessary, you can download the cleaning programs to a flash drive, then run the programs on the infected system.
