I followed all the other threads. Went in safe mode. Looked in all the files that everyone has asked me to look in and there is no SVKP file. And i went through and changed my folder settings just like i am supposed to. What do i do?

Hi PlayBoyBunny and welcome to TechSpot.

You need to have a read of this - If your system is infected. Read this before deciding whether to CLEAN or REFORMAT.

Then if you should wish to proceed with cleaning your system you need to go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, Combofix, and AVG Antispyware logs as ATTACHMENTS into this thread, only after doing the above.
We also need to know the result of Panda Antirootkit.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Do the following, then continue with the instructions as given by rik.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how HERE.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Click start/run and type regedit into the runbox and press the enter key.

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/SVKP and HKEY_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SVKP

Delete them, close regedit, reboot your system and rehide your protected OS files.

If the regkeys aren`t there, don`t worry.

Regards Howard
