Vista - Restarts on Log on

I am running into a problem when I boot my laptop and I get to the vista log on screen. When I submit my credentials either thru typing my user name & password or the fingerprint credentials (doesn't matter which) vista acts as it is logging on, but then just restarts.

If I wait a couple of minutes, log on goes thru fine. It is kind of irritating that I have to wait in order to log on.

Just wondering what this is due to, since I would not say that my laptop is slow. Is there a fix for this?


I am using a valid copy of Vista Enterprise and a HP nc6320 laptop.

it could be that something in your startup list is doing this, maybe anti virus or drivers

try this: press ctrl + shift + esc, click file > new task and type "msconfig" i the box without the quotes

click on the startup tab and uncheck a few things like java, itunes, quicktime, adobe read, if you have them installed, of course, then see if it helps
