  1. VPN Problem - I wish to setup remote network connection over static IP DSL and Linksys router. I Don't know if it is possible to setup remote communication without third party software such as remote administrator server 2.2 (www.radmin.com). If anyone knows such secured connection then please help... Can XP communicate over remote locations without 3rd party software. I know XP have remote desktop connection... can this work....

    Both should be able to work.

    Forward the following ports on yuor router to you workstations IP address.

    VPN = 1723
    Remote Desktop Connection = 3389

    You also need to right click on "My Computer" select properties and click on the "Remote" tab. Be sure that the tab is checked for "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer.

    I believe this is only available in Windows XP Pro and not the Windows XP Home version.

    Is it possible to get connected without having any domain or server and have connection established through workgroup.
