Inactive Vredsearch.net redirect

Hi all,

I read a post earlier on someone's computer being constantly redirected to vredsearch.net. I tried to reply to that thread, but I was unable, so I started this one. My computer is also being constantly redirected to vredsearch.net when I use google or bing, regardless of the browser, IE, chrome, etc. I have Vipre Antivirus Premium 4.0, and it detects two trojans when I do a deep scan, but all it will do is quarantine the trojans. Would I follow the same steps as in the "Cant access google programs (browser hijacker)" post between itoshi and broni? Or would it be different for my computer? Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Cleancomp

Welcome to TechSpot! I need some information to help you.

The site you mentioned, vredsearch.net is in Romania, so it's possible the hosts files have been hijacked. In the meantime, while we're looking for the malware, you can try to block that particular domain:

For Internet Explorer: Control Panel or Tools in IE> Folder Options> Security tab> click on Restricted sites> Sites> type the domain name in> Click on Add or Block, whichever your browser has. This may be a waste of time however as the entries directing you will also have o be removed.

You can start a thread in this forum, but not reply to other threads, only your own.

Please follow these steps: Preliminary Virus and Malware Removal.

NOTE: If you already have any of the scanning programs on the computer, please remove them and download the versions in these links.

When you have finished, leave the logs for review in your next reply .
NOTE: Logs must be pasted in the replies. Attached logs will not be reviewed.
