Vundo

  1. Hey, I think i have vundo on my pc, I tried the vundo fix and it found 4 files but they return after startup, I also tried vundobegone but it just freezes after i click start in safe mode (maybe i need newer version not sure, there were a lot of different ones when i searched). I've also tried SS&D, ad-aware, ccleaner, etc.
My kaspersky security suite is blocking hidden data streams from explorer.exe every time i open IE, and every so often it will block a trojan download e.g. Trojan-Spy.win32.VBstat.h, VirtuMonde, etc.

Here is my hijackthis log, I'm guessing I should delete all the 02, 020 and F2 entries?

hey, I still think i have vundo because i'm getting the 'winantivirus pro 2007' popup that goes with it, but i've also noticed the dll 'jkhfg.dll' in my hijackthis log has injected itself into my winlogon.exe and explorer.exe

I didn't see your 'preliminary removal instructions' thread before, im going to go through all the steps and post the results

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

    Regards Howard

ok i finished all the steps, I'm sill getting winantivirus pro 2007 popups, and explorer.exe sending hidden streams, and something trying to download win32 trojans to my comp (kaspersky is blocking everything though)

the rootkit scanner didn't find anything

here's an example of a kaspersky message about the hidden data streams for a website:
    ----
Process C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE (PID: 1688) is trying to send data through trusted process.

    Destination:
    http ://65.243.103.60/trafc-2/rfe.php

    Data:

    CookieX: ghrnc=0
    ----

Sometimes when i click deny explorer.exe crashes.

Here's an example of a message i get from kaspersky when it tires to download virus:

    ----
    Detected Virus (modification):
    Packed.Win32.Klone.j

    file:
    http: //69.31.80.179/143f.dll

This file may contain a virus (modification). You are advised to block this download
    ----
    and another:

    ----
    another:

    ----

The virus messages happen every few hours. These 3 happened right after the each other, then nothing for a few hours.

here are the logs, im also including the dll list running in my winlogon and explorer.exe:

Delete all files in AVG Antispyware quarantine.

    Download Vundofix from HERE.

Double click the Vundofix.exe to run it.

Right click in the vundofix window and click add files.

Enter the full file path/s to the files you want Vundofix to delete and click the add files button, followed by the close window button. Click the remove vundo button and let Vundofix do it`s stuff.

These are the filepaths you need to enter into Vundofix.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhfg.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\gxjakahd.dll

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how HERE.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

    PartyGaming
    PartyPoker
    UltimateBet
    MANSION
    Villa
    Titan Poker

    Close control panel.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).
