W2K updates from M$ slow, only 32KB chunks!

Yesterday I updated a Sony Vaio laptop with W2K from the M$-website.
Today I updated my own W2K-PC.
Both updates only run at a 'Download progress' of 32KB chunks per 'change of the downloaded/wanted' amount.
Both PCs run different, legal, registered W2K copies, with SP4 installed.
My updates 2 weeks ago were flying!
Has M$ done something to deter people from using/updating W2K?

I wouldn't doubt it if they did lol. Maybe a lot of people are just hammering the MS update site, causing your download to be slow.

    On 2 different days?
Yesterday, that laptop needed 33MB and almost 2 hours!
Today I only needed 2.4MB, still took over 10 minutes!
    I have a 1Mb broadband connection.
Firefox on e.g. TechSpot flies litterally, but cranky old M$ IE (v6/SP1 & fully updated) seems to be giving the finger...

whoa thats slow, maybe Microsoft are cheaping out on the win2000 update bandwidth, or the 2000update servers got issues.

Anyone else using WIN2K update site find the updates slow? I'm using XP so I wouldn't be able to tell ya.
