I get this message when i come on my computer that i have this virus and i have no way of knowing how to get rid of it... i recently, since recieving the messages, get tons of popups saying my computer is infected and it keeps automatically running programs to scan my computer... any help would be appreciated. I also get a popup with a little triangle in the desk tray telling me i have some pop up probelm OHPE ver 4.12_23.

I have also attatched my hjt log.

Edit: I`m sorry, but I`ve removed your .doc file. This is due to the risk of viruses etc. If you post you next HJT log as a .txt attachment, it`ll be great. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Download and run these three tools. Follow the instructions carefully for using each tool.

Tool1. Tool2. Tool3.

Then, go and read this thread HERE.

Post a fresh HJT log as a .txt attachment into this thread, only after doing the above.

ok, that`s got rid of some of the nasties, but we still have a long way to go yet.

It appears you`re not running any antivirus or firewall software.

Download the free AVG antivirus programme and either the free Zonealarm or the free Kerio firewall programmes. You can get them from HERE, HERE and HERE.

Install the firewall first, followed by AVG and reboot your system. Run the AVG updates.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name. See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Run a full system scan with AVG and delete whatever it finds.

Reboot into normal mode and turn system restore back on.

Then, go HERE and follow the instructions exactly.

Post a fresh HJT log, only after doing the above.

Regards Howard :)
