when you type query into any search engine,then click on result to go to web site. We are redirected to a different search engine a different one every time. Have norton antispyware not problems detected,so installed windows defender ran scan no problems detected. Using IE7 fault there, no problem when using Fire fox can any body please give me a solution:confused:

you might try this 'quick fix'

delete the IE cache and then run->cmd
ipconfig /flushdns
net stop "DNS Client"
net start "DNS Client"
restart IE

Dont fix all the R entries, there are better ways, post the log and we'll take a look at it.

redirect: not going where you expected to. When driving a car, it's that darn detour sign that routes you elsewhere.

On the web there are two kinds:
1- the website designer actually intends to take your brower to a different location
on the site than the one your browser requested. This usually occurs when the site
gets reorganized and the webmaster doesn't want you to lose access by removing the
original page

2- the BAD KIND, is like what is being reported here;
"We are redirected to a different search engine a different one every time".
The browser (or dns) as been hijacked by forcing the reply to "somewhere I didn't want to go".
