Weekend Open Forum: What are you watching?

I am streaming "Shameless". At the end of season 2, I decided I would stop watching as soon as one of the characters made a good decision. Well into season 5. Real time, "Suits" has been a favorite, seems like it has run it's course.

Almost non-stop Disney Jr. channel with a smattering of Nick Jr. (I have a 3 year old). I watched the first three seasons of The Walking Dead until my child's birth in 2013 and haven't watched it since. I just don't have much patience nor the attention span for TV anymore.

I have a limited time for tv and movie for being a family man now.

So I only watched, recommended movies and a few TV shows that have great reviews and is according to my taste. I observed most season 1 of tv shows are great then become boring or somewhat lame going to season 2. An exemption is game of thrones. From January untill this date, I finished all the harry potter movies and some old award winning movies. Completed also Mozart in the jungle. I am currently trying to continue agents of shield and slowly completing Planet Earth 2. Currently watching Legion though I might drop it

The Vikings, Walking Dead (this season is unfortunately the worst so far) and Taboo. Will watch the next season of Game of Thrones whenever they decide to kick it in again.

All recommended, especially The Vikings which I think is one of the more underrated shows available right now.

Isn't the Vikings based on that series of books by Bernard Cornwell, Saxon Tales? TWD is going to get more watchable cause the creators realize no one want Negan around

I did the Nick thing...it was great! Kids are 35 now

The Man in the High Castle is an awesome show.
Love game of thrones and vikings and Trailer Park Boys.
Sons of Anarchy is one of my favorite series.
Currently watching The Killing on Netflix, pretty good show so far.

I probably watch more Youtube then anything else. Shorter content is easier to sneak in then getting a full episode of most shows. Its a mix of Tech, photogs, and nerdy stuff.

And I do "read" as well. I usually do audiobooks in the car to/from work. I have a 30 min drive both ways so I can get through a moderate book in a couple of weeks:

I've been neck deep in mentoring a robotics team for the past 6 weeks, so not much TV time, but my DVR is filling up fast... All of the recent DC Arrowverse and Agents of Shield are sitting there waiting for me, about half of Westworld, the Expanse. Latest episodes of the Blacklist are waiting for me, and the wife is getting testy because she's waiting for me to watch them.

In the little windows between work and heading off mentoring, I do fit in some short comedy stuff... Finding The Mick to be pretty funny. Trying to like Powerless, but it's falling flat of what I was hoping for (Better Off Ted with a tiny hint of superhero flavor was what I wished it would be).

Oh, and the wife and I like to watch Scorpion in sort of an MST3K fashion, commenting about the escalating ridiculousness of each episode's situations, and the equally ridiculous solutions the team comes up with. We thought about making it a drinking game, taking a shot every time there was something implausible happening, but we'd be drunk 30 minutes in and probably end up with liver damage...

The Expanse. It reminds me in many ways of FireFly. I'm also happy to see the Sci-fi channel go back to its roots.

YES! Love this show. Nice to see Syfy actually do Sci-fi again... I stopped watch for quite a while when they cancelled Stargate in protest.

Oh yes, I totally forgot about The Magicians... I binge watched the entire first season within a week, and have season 2 stacking up on my DVR now, just waiting for me to have some of this "free time" that I keep hearing about...
