Weekend Open Forum: What 'next-gen' console do you own?

Consoles are toys for kids and immature adults. pc sh!ts on all of them
The only one immature is you with your disrespect!

I don't own a console, because I prefer a PC and have been this way for 20 years. I am mature enough, not to call someone who is different, "immature".

I challenge you to find a friend with a console and a copy of call of duty. Play the game for just 1 hour and then come back and report how many little kids and a lot of" adults" on there have talked about the intimate relations they've had with your mother. Or better yet go into each lobby and announce that your African American and count the racists. I would expect at least 8 out of 12 people in each lobby will throw racist remarks. You obviously have never played on the consoles or your attitude would reflect the person your replying back to. This was one of the many many reasons I switched to pc gaming. The people are much more pleasant and just want to have fun.

I don't know why this subject has been repeated so soon. This debate was included in wof only a couple of months ago? Having just spent a few quid on a new PC build I don't have the spare cash for a console however I have no wish to buy one either.

For gaming I use my PC! I also own a Wii U for when people come over and kids...and I love Mario Metroid and Zelda! I am playing Titanfall on PC, and I feel sorry for all the Xbone players...it must feel like crap to have a brand-new console that cant even max settings without stumbling... I mean You need a decent PC but still...

A 80's Mattel Intellivision console (which I still have). It was my first & last console. I've since grown up and discovered the PC.

I have the 3DS and may get the 2000 series Vita if a few more games come out. My TV-based console interest was waning with the last gen and is almost nonexistant at this point.

Next-Gen console... You mean last-Gen Console!!!!! If it really is next-gen then why is it sooo outdated already! PC is the only true next-gen machine unless of course you can call 4yr old equipment next-gen like consoles lol.

I have a PC but I would love a PS4 due to the exclusives (Only real reason to get a console tbh) and the xbox one brings nothing to the table except 1 game which in no way justify the cost of the console.

I have a PS4 and a PC. Bought Titanfall for the PC and play with my Xbox 360 controller. Sorry guys. Can't do the keyboard/mouse in FPS games. I've tried and admit that I'm horrible, but do pretty well with the controller in these games.

I'm probably the only one who's not gonna say how my PC is next gen console. I don't own any next gen consoles. I also don't own next gen PC.

I own a high end pc(i7 and 780gtx), PS3, PS4 and PS vita. and a considering a wii u. xbone isnt out here so there was no choice when buying ps4.

I play mainly fps and strategy on pc: titanfall, diablo 3 and south park right now.
ps3 is largely for batman games and gta v and media streaming.
ps4 I am playing thief, bf4 (I just seem to prefer the ps4 version less hacking and I can turn off chat so I cant hear all the useless comments.) and rayman legends. soo second son and mgs v.
vita is rayman origins and persona 4 and olliolli.

from all perspectives each has advantages and disadvantages.

pc is very anti social. sure I can chat to people on-line (and there are just as many ppl on pc who are ignorant as on consoles) but it requires being separated from the family.
I want wii u for its social aspect games.

what I don't get is people comparing $1500+ gaming rigs to a $400 console its like saying "my porsche is faster than your mazda 3, suck it ***** noob" no **** its faster its also 3x more expensive.

a $400-500 pc well chosen would beat a console mainly because consoles are specced a few years previously. but I reckon the difference wouldn't be massive.

anyway back on point. I am a mature adult who recognises that there are benefits and negatives to each system type. and as a result enjoy using them all and have no regrets. (although the vita games when purchased were poor they are getting much better now.)

Thank you for posting.(y)

I love how this just turns into a mass pi55ing contest.
I have this I am sooo orsm check out my rig off topic nonsense.

I personally have neither new console. Like so many here who this topic is therefore not for the likes.
But as everyone has had their pointless 2 cents why not jump in.

For the money reading about these consoles with CPU / APU / GPU configs that boost the bits it actually looks like you cant build a pc as good for the price.
That said with the stupidly priced controllers addons and games, it turns into an insane amount of money which can not compete with the pc on any footing, it just looks that way at 1st.
The price hike on games is insane though looking at the RRPs. And I wouldnt pay £70 on a dual shock controller. I just dont think I could afford the prices for the counseling my wallet would need after being raped so hard.

I have a pc, and with more games finally able to use a controller, and keyboard / mouse, then its all good, but in the past, I would have said some games do just suit a controller better, and I don't care that people think that keyboard n mouse is the way to play games like GTA, there is just no way on earth thats possible.

And the whole backward compatibility lack of annoys me, you want me to upgrade don't cut my nuts off in the process. Trying to force people to rebuy catalogues of games they already paid good money for, through online stores. A holes.

What kind of a disadvantage is that? If I wanna be social, first thing I'm surely not gonna do is play games...

Don't own one, only ever gamed on a PC even when it was a Commodore 64. Amazing the games that could fit on a 5" floppy

This is a problem with Call of Duty, not consoles. I've played shooters on console and PC since the late 90s and the crowd of chumps you're referencing are a specialty of that franchise. But what else would you expect from a game that rewards players with ever more powerful computer assists?

Iv got a PC and my girlfriend owns a Xbox one, we live together. Xbox one is meh, most games they sell you have to be online to play with someone else and that someone else isn't the person sitting next to you. The old split screen days seem to be dead. Which is really sad, that's one of the main reasons I wanted to get a new console. Say you have a few friends over for drinks you cant bust out the old pc and play together on it.

I have a few emulators on my pc but they can be a pain to deal with.

It's really sad to see such degradation and hatred between complete strangers on what should be a friendly exchange of opions between a group of people who share a common interest. You should all be ashamed of your behavior and shame on the moderators for tolerating such a lack of civility.

With all that being said in my previous post, I really enjoy console gaming. I purchased a PS4 because to me it was the better value of the two systems. I am really still distrustful of Microsoft because of all the BS they pulled when they announced the Xbone. I do not like paying a hundred dollars more for the Kinect. Finally, I am really enjoying all the free games why PS+.

PC only! I7-2600 @ 4.1 Ghz, ASUS GTX 760 DC2OC, 8GB.
I got a pair of wireless xbox controllers for hack n' slash games.

I'm thinking about an Xbox One for the living room but only because of Kinect and just for casual fun when we have guests...

Next-gen consoles will be strong for a short time, then on PC we will get DX12, double-triple... GFLOPS than now...

peace

So presumably you own all the consoles.

I don't own any "next gen" consoles, only Xbox and Wii. I would like at some point to buy a Wii U, but I don't feel it's worth the current price. The next gaming machine I buy will be the ASUS VivoTab Note 8.

I have a Fairchild Channel F buried in the closet somewhere.

I was told it was "Next Gen" when I bought it. That was a a while back...
