All the publicity about Steam Boxes and Steam's Big Picture gaming led me to just plug my computer into the back of a 50" HDTV. I sit about 8 feet back and it works well for computing and tv watching but resolution is , of course, limited to 1080p (but that's okay). I have also always liked the iPad's screen.

I have a 2x 24" touch monitor setup from Acer for my desktop and the extra real estate of opening a program on each monitor separately (DisplayFusion) is absolutely perfect. I also think my Nexus 7 is great plus I have a 6' Lumia 1520 which does it justice with Windows Phone 8.1.

Size does matter. I am packin a 39 incher with 4k. I love 4k and will never go back to that awful 1080p. I feel sorry for u people with your tiny 1080p 24 inch monitors. Your livin in the past man.
And how special are you?

I currently use:
TV: I have a couple 52" 1080p sets (could use MUCH larger - 150" would even be fine with much higher resolution and a good scaler)
Desktop: 27" 2560x1440 (could use larger... probably up to the high 30's and with higher resolution)
Tablet: Multiple 10" and 7" tablets @ mostly 1080p (this is about ideal since I don't use these very often)
Phone: 5" Galaxy S4 @ 1080p (could use slightly larger - maybe up to Note size with higher resolution)

Even though I'm getting older and my vision clearly isn't as good as it was just 5 years ago I still seem to be much pickier about image display quality than my friends or the people I work with. I also feel that there's a chicken and egg issue here where people who are a bit resistant to the change (maybe it's to rationalize previous purchases) will either say there is not enough GPU power available or the cost is still too high on the more capable displays. Once one of the techs reaches mainstream the complimentary devices will surely catch up as quickly as possible.

Here is the sequence of monitors/TVs I have been using for the past 10 or so years:

15", 17", 19", 21.5", 32", and now I am using 40" TV as a monitor less that 1 feet away from my eyes, and I don't think I want to go any higher.

At first, I was really annoyed by the ghosting and low performance, but after a while my eyes got used to it so I decided to trade performance for size. And picture quality is outstanding.

Wouldn't it be nice to include a simple poll with each weekend open forum?

3.5" phone
7" tablet
17" desktop replacement laptop
2x20" 4x3 aspect ratio PC monitors

That said, I've always like the smaller scale of devices, but sometimes it's nice to have big pixels so I don't have to use my reading glasses.

Desktop: 24" (27" is too big for me)
Smartphone: 5.7" - 5.9" I would be OK with 5.5" minimum
Tablet: 0" - With a big enough screen on my phone, I do not need a tablet. If I had to choose, give me 15" or nothing.
Laptop: 17" would be nice, but standard 15.4" is just fine.

I suppose there are many who are satisfied with a small 4.7" I am not.

...
It also comes with a 144Ghz gamer's version. Can you beat that? :)

No other manufacturer will beat that for hundreds of years, right now I'm fine with 144 Hz for gaming :p. Now my preferred screen sizes:
* Desktop: 27"
* Smartphone: 4.6" tops
* Tablet: not interested -consider them expensive toys
* Laptop: 13.3"
* TV: 55"
