Weird problem with internet connectivity

Basically, if I use MSConfig to disable services (Non-Microsoft) or if I use Safemode with Networking I cannot connect to the internet. (It says it cannot connect to the DNS server.)
This is a recent problem, but I haven't made ANY system changes before this problem happened and now.
It's like my internet connection has somehow become 'dependent' on another service? Any help?

Safe Mode does not provide networking so it should NOT be successful.
Why are you into msconfig if everything works anyway? What are you attempting to achieve?

As I said in my post; Safemode With Networking.

Effectively I'm just trying to solve some program compatibility issues. One refuses to update while another is running etc, etc.

I'm more concerned with why my computer has randomly started doing this?
