What are IDE,SATA,ATA ect. differences

    i just want somebody to explain to me what cables (ex. IDE, SATA, ATA) connect and what the differces are.

    Cables in general connect electrical devices to each other or are used in buildings to hold things.

    The types of cables you named connect hard drives to hard drive controllers. IDE and ATA are two names for exactly the same thing. SATA is the new standard supposed to replace ATA.
