What are some of the game releases that had you most disappointed?

ME3 ending bad?? oh you were one of those cry babies...

I'm afraid the only thing "oh you were one of those cry babies.." explains is how much you cast aside other's thoughts. I would call you a troll but even the common internet troll knows the basics of covering his *** and I don't see that here.

Ace combat assault horizon- Took a decent arcade-flying game and destroyed it. Jets with 300 missiles? everything is on earth now? QTEs?!? After 4 great games in a row you'd think they would continue what they were doing, but it seems every Japanese developer took a big dose of stupid pills this decade.

BF3-the online was heavily CoDized, the destructible environments were nowhere near as dynamic as BFBC2, which is still my favorite BF game.

Borderlands TPS- brought back the monotony from the first game, and got rid of the many varied environments and massive content of BL2. Just kinda, meh.

Every broken game released in the past 3 years-no excuse, these games should have never come out in the states they did. BF4, AC:U, ece.

Battlefield 4 was disappointingly short, a poor storyline and has some glitches. It's nothing like the awesome story and gameplay of BF3.
(I'm only referring to singleplayer.)

Don't really care for need for speed, driving with a keyboard. By the way, my vision after the cataract surgery is 20/40 in the one eye, so I can now unofficially drive without glasses.

Titanfall - so much potential and it was just too clunky.

BF4 - regression from BF3

COD after MW1 - hackers, boost, and lame servers

Unreal 2 - great graphics (for time) not so great a game
I think I was the only person that liked Unreal 2

Nemesis on the ZX Spectrum. Really bad release that was trash compared to the reviewed version which was never released. Nice one Konami

Warhammer Age of Reckoning. What a disappointment from the developers behind Dark Age of Camelot.

Duke Nukem Forever

Daikatana

The past is littered with gaming balls-ups

Evolve was some sort of stinker. I paid $70 for the super-duper deluxe pre-order version because of all the pre-game hype. Man, what a mistake that was. Think I put a whopping 2 hours into it before uninstalling. I could have better used that $70 starting a camp fire.

And more old school, Silent Hunter 4 was a complete disaster. Very disappointing after the stellar Silent Hunter 3.

Wow ... I don't think their is enough room to list all of them.

However, the hands down the most disappointing game ever ...

X-rebirth Metacriitic score of 33 / 3.2 and to tell the truth that is BS, the Devs have thrown in A few hundred 10s too bump this score. http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/x-rebirth

I am now 35, When I was 19 I worked at electronics boutique (eb games or gamestop now for you youngns) This game came out and I was blown away. The followed up with newer verson and always out did their selves. They were never Big money maker games, however their core group of ppl loved them. The games always had A stigma of being hard ... they were not , just had to take the time to learn.

I would say I have well over 500 hours in X2 and Probably 2000+ between X3/X3Ap. When they announced rebirth, I was so happy. However as more came out about it ... I became very sad, I could tell from the info coming out , it was going to be watered down for the Masses, this was going be A game made for consoles .... threw all the new glossy graphics, I could see it was going to be epicley dumbed down so more people would buy it. It worked, the game sold well ... however it was so freaking bad. Its sad cause I knew the game was going too be bad, and it was worst then anyone could imagined.

This game was so bad, feel steam should of gave refunds .... Shame on them. Trust me it was bad.

Runner up would be BRINK !

Honorable Mentions
Watchdogs, Thief, D3, Dungons, Gotham City Impostors, Alines Vs Predators, C&C 4, BF4.

And A note to bethsaida, As much As I do love all your games ... Been playing since Dagger Fall. Stop hurting PC games because crappy consoles cant take it. You removed flight from Elder Scrolls games because consoles could not run them as well ... dont dumb your games down becuase of this.
Some of your best dungons were ones that were air mazes ... bring them back !

For me it's Dragon Age 3 aka I can't believe it's not an MMO. Seriously, did they look at MMOs and think "hey, that long boring grindfest is great, lets add that into our story-driven RPG, oh, and don't forget to throw in a few kill 10 of X and collect 12 of Y quests". And why does it take my PC 5-10 arrows to kill a single basic enemy (and probably 100+ for some of the tougher ones)? Was my bow made by nerf?

Divinty: Dragon Commander. As a dragon lover and someone who loves strategy games, this game was a massive disappointment for me. The battle gameplay was pretty much spew more units out than your opponent, the dragon mode was clunky and difficult to use and AA took it out way too quickly. The campaign and decisions you made added interesting elements and conquering the map was fun, but the core gameplay, especially the dragon mode, was a huge disappointment for me.

None! Really!
1) I rarely pre-order stuff ...
2) if you have low expectations to start with, then you usually get even positively surprised how well the game turned out, instead of the whine you hear here ...

(and I did enjoy every single WoW expansion launch (except the part that servers were crashing and DC-s etc, but with the game itself... 0 disappointments (my disappointments happened every single time new expansion was _announced_ and it wasn't new planet)))

Lowering standards to extract maximum performance from the material. It's like the US public school model, but for games.

* Master of Orion 3: I think enough has been about this...and now I'm hearing some disquieting things about the MOO reboot as well. Does nobody understand that we don't need this genre "reinvented"? We just need it updated and fleshed with more variety and customization. If there's too much micromangement its not fun. If there's no depth at all then it gets old really quick. If the UI isn't intuitive and well-designed (and there's no way to fix it via modding) frustration builds and people give up quickly. Same goes if the AI cheats like a fiend. Games like this are a real balancing act, and not just because their primarily a single-player experience.
One hundreds times this. I loved MOO, and played SOO MUCH MOO2 it's not even funny. MOO3, I tried to like it, I tried to play it... but it was such a disaster...

Total War Rome 2 was dire, although it has been much improved with patches now, the release state was unforgivable.

X-rebirth is another huge fail, the whole series was amazing and after a huge hype they released rebirth for everyone to be disappointed.

Story elements aside for Phantom Pain, the controls are still very buggy for PC. They half-butt the port in my opinion, which makes it disappointing.

I defiantly agree with @psycros about Masters of Orion 3. 2 was so awesome that you would expect 3 to be even greater! I think the some issue happened with Empire Earth if I recall. The first one was so awesome and you could play against PCs that you knew cheated with some buddies have a great time and no one got butt hurt. but EE3, pff I felt like they were trying to mimic WarCraft.

Oh yea, the Mario Party that came out on the WiiU, extremely sucked. Mario Party is one of the few games that my wife will play, but both of us were very disappointed at Nintendo jacking things up. Also, Amiibos are horrible.

That's enough negativity for me.

You see what happens when people preorder games and blow money on DLC's which should be bundled with the game? It's the biggest scam since the Ponzi Scheme and then some.
If people used a little bit more common sense and voted with their wallets instead there would be more great games than they could shake a GTX 980Ti at.

Broken Age not running on my Galaxy Tab S was the most disappointing in recent times.

I agree about D3 at launch, but since 2.0, reaper of souls, and now 2.3, it's one of the best PC games ever, IMO.
I should give it another go, I'm just burnt out on all the time I prev spent trying to make it fun. They still don't even have open duels? The 8 man reckless dueling in d2 made it hella fun.
