What do you do for work?

I'm a programmer who made a career working in failed startups, always hoping that the current one would make it. (Current company is not strictly a startup, but it did a total change in direction less than 2 years ago.)

I was a 3D game engine developer, worked on an AI chip, a many core (32+ cores) processor, and other interesting stuff. I'm currently programming simple image processing on GPU's.

I'm a senior IT Manager for VMware, Windows, Linux & Exchange for the alst 10 years. I would like to move to another job.

Project Manager. If you can think it, I can put together the right team and make it happen. Often best described as a traffic cop directing traffic in the middle of a 58 road intersection. So far, no major accidents, but a few fender benders along the way ...... :)

I work a tier 1 helpdesk job for a major cable provider which is exactly the last job I ever said I would do. But as much pressure is on me to improve the customer experience it really makes the time fly. So in that sense, it makes it an easy job to go to. My experience is as a network field technician, warranty computer repair, desktop administrator, and unfortunately helpdesk. I do love this second shift though.

Self employed IT consultant here, for the past 20 years, but also work with electricians and hvac guys doing home automation and smart homes installations. I still do the same support work I've been doing since I was 18, I have to admit I have no real ambitions and love tech support and engaging with people.

I am a Master Control Operator at NBC Sports. Just worked the game were Golden State broke Chicago's most games won in a season. On Thursday I worked the San Francisco Giants game were they allowed the most runs in one inning in franchise history. I also work on radio shows such as Toucher & Rich, Chuck Powell and The Fan. Also work on usa network, chiller, sprout and a dozen other networks.
If thats true, cool dude. I know it takes a lot of people to make that **** happen and we never hear about those that make it work.

Environmental Specialist for a company in the aerospace industry. My facility does a lot of anodizing/conversion coating and painting of aircraft parts. I make sure we stay within our permitted limits for what we send out of the building in the air or through wastewater and make sure the rain water that leaves our property is up to the state standards for runoff quality. I also manage our hazardous waste program.

Hey, SNG.

Nope.. I gave it a solid effort, but eventually ran out of money and desire :/ Not terribly upset about it though, learned a lot in the process and am on a career path that I think will suit me better in the long run.

Well the learning counts most (unless you want to join the faculty at a university).

All the best,

Ravi

I'm a ghostwriter and I work from home (or everywhere I can). Which means that I use my laptop so often that I need to know the basic repairs if anything goes wrong, that's one of the reasons why I'm here.

I'm a ghostwriter as well but do some side hustle within tech. Love computers and enjoy spending time around them.
