Newgroups (aka Usenet), is kinda the grandpappy to todays boards, listserves, discussion groups, SIG's (special interest group), BLOGs, etc. With 3M messages AND over 1TeraByte of file traffic per DAY - every conceivable subject seems to be "discussed". Interesting enough, there are more than 3.4M spam messages sent a day..
