What to use on-board audio or SB Audigy?

hello folks at techspot.
here is my question:
is it better to use the onboard-sound(realtech alc 1200)
or should I install my(fairly old) sound blaster audigy?
will it have an effect on cpu-usage or sound quality?

Extra PCI cards, mean

more power consumption
more startups
more services running
