Hi, I just upgraded my rig and I was wondering what is better for sound? My old Hercules Muse XL or my new onboard Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 sound Andy
I asked a similar question a while back here. Thomas gave me some great info. If your still unsure after going through that then it just goes down to which has more features that you need or want. Such as which one has support for more channels (i.e. 5.1, 7.1, 2.1). If one has more then it’s most likely better so go with it. Most onboard soundcards nowadays are fairly decent if the Hercules Muse XL is a couple of years old and your motherboard is new it is probably better just stick to onboard.
Better sound? In terms of which aspect? Gaming, movies, music or just general? It all depends on what your usage habits are.
