What's better AVG or Avast?

  1. Most people recommend AVG i think but i also tried out Avast and something that impressed me was that it has a function to do a virus scan before windows starts up. I find this useful because some viruses can tamper with your anti-virus programs. What do you guys think?

I think it`s down to personal preference. Both AVG and Avast are both very good. If you find the ability to do a virus scan before Windows starts useful, then by all means stick with Avast.

The best form of antivirus is sensible surfing/downloading etc. ;)

Very true, Howard. I have never tried Avast, but AVG fits all of my needs. Every couple of months I install every Spyware/Virus protection I have and run them.

Both good. Both work well... better than the store bought Antivirus programs.
