I currently have a GeForce FX 5600. Should i upgrade this now, or wait about another 6 months and upgrade something else?

Are you having trouble playing the games you want to play?

If yes, then upgrade. If not, wait a bit longer. The refreshes from ATI and nvidia is right around the corner, which should give increased availability and possibly a bit cheaper prices on their current offerings.

You should also consider if you'll be going with PCI-Express next round, if you'll be using BTX or ATX etc.
By that I mean that there is a lot of changes going on in the hardware market with new standards being introduced, and it can be a good idea to start planning a major upgrade of all your components.

But if you feel that you're being held back from playing the games you currently have, then by all means, upgrade.
