Where is my Laser computer??? I should have one by now!!!

Dose anybody know what happend to the laser computer idea that was being thrown around by intel about two to three years back? Instead of using copper or whatever is being used today for connections it was going to use fiber optic cables. It was sounded like a instrumental turning point in computer history because data would flow at the speed of light between components.

They`re defininitely still working on it !

I`d say 4 years for an optical computer,8 years for quantum,and 12 years for biological.

I just saw this artice today, do you think it if we made the switch in the next year would the OS's need to be drasticly modified to work?
