Where to put the DirectX 9.0c Redlist files? Where to put the DirectX 9.0c Redlist files?
I downloaded DirectX Redistrbutable 9.0C (2006).
I ran it and then it asked me where to place the Exctracted files. ... where do I put them. ???^_^???
I'm doing this upgrade because I can not play BF2 or FEAR because of errors like this "Can not locate D3DX9_26.DLL" if I did install the files in the certain place will this solve my problem??

Any more help or Advice would be helpful.^_^

I created a folder on C: drive called Temp and unzipped the files to there.

Then when they've been unzipped (extracted) open that folder and run the setup program which will install the files.

I unziped the files to a temp file.
Ran the setup and installed the directx.
But i still have the problem where it says "can not locate d3dx9_26.dll"
And i see the files in the unziped folder. ?_?
The setup said that I was finished.

Any ideas what may have went wrong, please tell me.

that site helped me get the same files again, but i still have the same problems even thow that i have two sets of directx ....

Have you tried re-installing the games now that you have DirectX installed?
Have you tried running DXDiag.exe which should be under the Windows directory somewhere.

I've ran DXDiag over a dozen times.
I've reinstalled the games about 3 or 4 times.
So i'm just thinking about redo XP and go step by step...^_^
or download directx 9.0c only from microsoft on another computer,
Or go to my brothers computer and copy the files...

Go here and see if you can update to the latest version using the web installer.

I wish it worked on my computer, but i'll have to use my dad's laptop.
I keep failing the valadation because I have a copied xp...>>>-_-

The point is I've downloaded sevral types of the directx and none of them work.
The microsoft site would work if i got it from another computer.
