    Hi,

Which application software for playing DVDs is the best for Windows XP? I looked around www.download.com but all of them seem to be only demo versions. Isn't there any player I can download that isn't a demo?

    Thanks.

I would suggest VLC Media player. It is a little rough around the edges, but it works great.

Thanks. I downloaded Advanced DVD Player Pro and it was horrible. It put too much unwanted things onto my computer, like a search toolbar that wouldn't turn off, and weather forecast tools etc. I had to do a Systems Restore.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the latest version of Windows Media Player has a DVD playing ability. Although it's not that decent for me, which I why I use PowerDVD. Of coarse it is a pay program though, so you'll probably just end up with a demo of it.
