    Hi all,

I need help on getting a DVD-ROM, at the moment I have a 52x LG CD-ROM and it packs out quite a punch but the noise is terrible. Apparently DVD-ROM's are naturally louder (my friends Dell 8300 has a hell of a noisy DVD Drive)...............so

Is there a DVD-ROM that isn't as loud as a jet engine but reasonably priced?

    Thanks in advance.

If you are only after a DVD-ROM and not a burner, look at the LiteOn players, very quiet and top-quality for a good price.
AOpen has a quiet one as well.

Slow drives are quiet and cheap.

yeah ok, i'll take a look at some liteOn drives. I guess it was stupid to want a reasonably priced, fast, and quiet drive. It's what everybody would wish for.
