Which Hard Drive?

By silent111

  1. I am looking at buying a new HDD, however there are so many on the market, I am unsure which one I should go for.

Anyone got any suggestions on make, model, etc?

What should I be looking for in a decent HDD, i.e SATA 2, RPM, transfer rate, etc?

    Thanks

Maxtor but now they're with Seagate. Still Maxtor/Seagate is okay. Still use Maxtor with out any issues even the Seagate models.

yea the 10000 rpm raptors are fan favorites - perhaps the best performing non-scsi's out there. check this out: www.sharkyextreme.com/guides/article.php/3756286
and make sure you have the ports on your motherboard that you'll need (esp SATA).
