Hi guys,

Can anyone help? im thinking of upgrading my RAM but am not sure which type to get; my mother board specs say the following;

2 DIMM slot
DDR 266/333/400 SDRAM support
Max. 2GB total
and my mother board is "FIC K7M-400"

My cpu is a Time, 2700 Processor, 512MB RAM with a 120Gb HD

But when i look up ram i see things like "PC2700 184pin DDR DIMM Memory"
What does "PC2700" or "PC2100" or "PC3200" mean and what other "PC" are there? how do i know which one my computer will take? can anyone tell from the specs i have given? i can give more info if needed!

Also what number of pins do i need??? is 184 standard? will my computre take 184 pin or do i need some other amount!?

also what do the samller PC numbers that i see mean such as "PC133" is that similar to above or simething else that really requires more compability consideration!

All i know is my computer supports 266/333/400 speeds but what about number of pins and "PC" thing!

Cheers!

BFG

PCxxxx means RAM speed. There is little point in getting RAM that is faster than your current one.

184 pins is the standard DDR module that goes into desktop PCs. You want that.
