is 64x right for me? from what i have read about it, it basicly incrase my proformance overall and i dont ahve to worrie about drivers since most of my items are new.

anyone have any real knowledge on how these Os work and what is the main diffrence.

64x is still in beta stadium, with most of the drivers untested, not available or older.
XP-Pro/SP2 is still the better way. Waiting for Vista is useless, at least another year.

I don't think the extra features XP Pro has over XP Home are worth anything for a gamer. XP Home should do fine & cost a lot less.

Server2003 (the server os in the XP family) has been used by some as a workstation and gameing os. The reason ppl would use it thusly is 2k3 has a faster tcp stack and better memory management. It also has a per processor runqueue scheduler, better for HT/smp systems by far. Too bad 2k3 is so expensive.

Hmmm, I'll have to try this!
