Which video card to get?

  1. Hello all, and thanks for your input in advance!

I currently have the Geforce FX5200, and want to upgrade. I live in Japan now, so it is hard to talk to the staff at the stores about which card is for me.

I want to spend UNDER 20,000 Yen. ($181 US at today's rates).

Would anyone be willing to look at this website (known to be the best prices in Tokyo) and let me know what you would get at th at budget? Prices are shown on the far right.

Thanks again guys (and gals  )

I am leaning towards the ASUSTek Radeon 9600XT/TVD/128M

I have just purchased the Asus 9600xt and find it to be a very fast reliable card upto now, all my games have marked improvement over my previous radeon 8500, so in my opinion go the way you lean :)

If this is within your stretched budget (21000) and it is the ATI 9800 and not another cheap brand I would go for this

I currently have my ATI 9800 clocked to close to Pro speeds without any problems. If its not an SE model or one with slow memory then its a better card than the 9600XT.

Thanks guys, appreciated. Arris, question for you. If I do not overclock, would you still say the 9800 is better than the 9600XT, or about the same?
