okay so for a while now my access to amazon.com has been refused, and it's annoying! i've heard that it could be because i had viruses so the site banned me. and i admit i did have a pretty nasty virus for a while but i fixed my computer so now it's virus free but i still can't access amazon. someone help me, i want to by books!

Personally, I would phone up Amazon. It is possible that they have IP banned you (although I have never heard of them doing this).

Their customer support is usually quite outstanding, and they should be able to get you fixed up quickly as it is in their best interest.

Use Notepad to open c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS (without an extension).
Normally this has some blabla in lines starting with #
and only one line further:
127.0.0.1 localhost.
If you have anymore in them, do a find of any line with Amazon in it. If found, delete that line.
If you have a whole lot of others, you can delete them all, except the localhost line.
Save the file.
Restart your webbrowser (hopefully Firefox or Opera).

Try using the proxy from your ISP, or if you are using a proxy already, disable it temporarily.
In your Networking settings.
