I have a trendnet 444ub 108mbps adapter that wont operate at 108mbps with my Trendnet 452brp 108mbps router according to the software that came with the adapter. Windows xp wifi manager reports it as 108mbps though. Which one should I trust?

If Windows is telling you your speed is 108mbps i'd be happy with that.
But to double-check I'd get on to trendnet to verify.

    More like 54mbps than 108mbps...

Oh and I forgot to mention that the trendnet manager reports it as 54mbps, and the speakeasy speedtest only tells you your internet connection speed...

no, that's round trip data transfer speed end-to-end. If you're in New York and testing from Los Angeles, then you've
    just traversed the USA backbone.

the combined transfer count for both download and upload is 5.8 MB ---
clearly not a test of 'just the connection speed' :)

    Best one is http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/
Don't have to load any flash applet like you do with speedeasy one.

These so call high speed modes like 108mbps and 125mbps still it's really 54mbps and even if you select 54G - performance mode.
