  1. hello all,

Im getting ready to build a new computer that i will need for basic use and AutoCAD. Can you tell me if this a good enough build for what i need it for? I do not play any games, just CAD and Inventor.

    Motherboard
Asus Ati Radeon Xpress 200 Crossfire

    Hard Drive
    WD Caviar SE WD1200JS 120gb 7200rpm 8mb Cache SATA 3.0Gb

    Video Card
    Sapphire 100119L HS Radeon X550 256MB 128 bit DDR PCI EX x16

    Memory
    Corsair Valueselect 2x512MB 184 pin DDR 400

    Case
    Cooler master Centurion 5 cac-T05

    Power supply
Fsp Fortron Force ATX400-pa, version 2.0, SATA, 400w

If you have any suggestions on other options please let me know. I can spend a little more in some areas to upgrade. I can pay more for a better CPU, Mobo, or HD. Thanks

Nice system. Where are you buying all your parts?

For a computer thats not gaming it seems pretty good. All I can say is go AM2and think about getting a higher wattage power supply from a more reputable company. Like OCZ. If you do, however choose to go AM2 instead of 939, you will have to choose a different motherboard, CPU and memory. AM2 is a better choice because it is cheaper and has a better upgrade path. Still, hypotheticly if you already have some of these parts then this will be a perfectly fine system.
