What is the largest drive Win 98SE can use and can it be formatted NTFS or must it be FAT32
Till some guru gets to you, here are some links that might help somewhat.
Also, I'm quite sure that Win 98SE doesn't support NTFS.
There really is no hard drive size limit in the OS, you'll hit motherboard/bios issues well before you hit a hd size that is problematic. There is a partition size limit though, you'll want to stick to 127GB or below.
Negative on the NTFS, you are stuck with FAT32 or FAT16.
Why 127 GB, SNG ?
Please read the guides:
Sorry, I was confused by the 137 GB splashed all over.
You can do 137, but good luck performing scandisk or defragmenting the drive with the built in 98 utilities. They are 16 bit programs and they crap themselves after 127 gigs.
Oh, thanks SNG.
I missed this in the previous threads.
