The device symptoms:
user gets booted off after a few minutes online or a few hours (random) and goes to MS Windows Error Signature screen. Error codes as follows:

BCCode : 10000012 BCP1 : 00000082 BCP2 : 80010038 BCP3 : 00000000 BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1

Recent changes to user's device:

user blew out the audio on mainboard, and installed a SoundBlaster Card. Installed sw with card and upgraded drivers from website.

All was well until this error message started. It's creating a dump file that I can attach later.

I am unfamiliar with this error signature screen and can't find any resources to figure out what the codes mean.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Go HERE and follow the instructions.

If that doesn`t help. Zip 5 or 6 of your latest minidumps together, and attach them here.

0x00000012: TRAP_CAUSE_UNKNOWN

By its very nature, this error means that the cause of the identified problem is unknown. Especially try to track it down by noting the history of the problem, when it appeared, and what changes were made to the system since the problem first appeared, as well as noting what activity you are attempting at the time the error message appears.

Your minidump crashes at ntoskrnl.exe. This is a Windows nt kernel file. Your minidump also references McShield.exe. This is your McAfee antivirus programme.

Try uninstalling, and reinstalling McAfee.

Regards Howard :)
