Win2000Pro network password

I recently upgraded a print server from W98 to Win200Pro, now other Win98 users are having problems accessing the computer, it is now requiring a password:
\\Servername\IPC$
Password:
There are no passwords in place, just an admin account, I have played around with group policies, re-installing the network services, re-naming the computer name.
The network is peer to peer. Other Win2000/XP computers can access alright.
Does any one have any ideas??

Thanks

W98 and W2000 access shares differently: W98 sends plain
text passwords, W2000 sends encrypted ones.

Make life easier in this way:
On each computer on the network, add a user account for every (W98)-user that needs access to the shared resources. If you use the same username and password on each computer on the network, users wont have to log on to each machine individually.

At a command prompt, type LUSRMGR.MSC +enter
Right-click Users and choose New User
Enter a username and password (or leave password blank)
and enter any other info you like.
Clear "User must change password at next logon"
Select "User cannot change PW" and "PW never expires"
