Long time reader..... 1st time poster. :)

Long story short........
Wifes laptop acquired the " Windev-*Random Numbers* " issue, and as of yet I have been unable to wrangle it out.

Deleted the Windev files, three in all, but internet connection is still iffy, if at all.
And the files keep reappearing, but not there in the system32 every time I look..... but randomly !

Firefox and iE load slow, and only rarely connect even tho the wireless connect shows all is good and proper.
Heres her HJT report... and can provide "others" if needed......
Pls. help if you can..... and Thanks in advance.

Budds.................

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

Regards Howard

From memory......

Antirootkit scan found the three files in the initial scan, and I removed them.
But has not found them in subsequent scans.
( Although I did find "Windev-ini" thru a manual search, and deleted it once again. )

Appreciate the help on this......
As the wife is VERY impatient, and is Not helping me as she downloads and tries various "Fixes" on her own ! :(
I will get home before her tonite, and supply items you request.

Thanx again...........

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\DOCUME~1\nana\APPLIC~1\Viewpoint<Delete the entire folder.

Other than the above, your logs look clean.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

Now, turn system restore back on. This will have deleted all your old restore points and any nasties that are in them. It will also have created a new, clean restore point.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

Regards Howard :)
