Windows 10, activating after hardware change

Hi!
After I upgraded to Windows 10, I changed my motherboard and now I get the message that I need to activate Windows, after which I get the message that the present activation key is invalid. And off course: buy a new key in Store!
Microsofts support pages leave no option for "calling in" as with Win-7/8 and do not mention anything else but get in contact with Microsoft Support, which in turn return my mail.

Anybody have a solution for this mess
Kurt

Hi!

First, backup all your files. Then you need to do a clean install with Windows 7 or 8 with your genuine key. After that, upgrade once again to Windows 10.

Hi!

Thanks a lot! (y)
That is what I feared that I have to do! Anyway, a clean install is what I should have done anyway at the Win-10 upgrade, so why not now!

I am also going to go this route soon and was wondering this exact same thing. So, I can reinstall using the Win 7disc and then upgrade after.
