Windows 10 "Fall Update" is reportedly coming in November

Too late, already gone back to 8.1 on all my machines. Won't be touching 10 again for a good year or so, it's a hot mess right now.

Surely you know that that will require you to make a hefty payment to upgrade? This thread is full of strange statements by Microsoft haters. There's very little wrong with Windows 10.

It wasn't worth it for me, even for free. Caused numerous issues. When I'm good and ready, paying is not an issue.

Strangely, here it is a few days from November and Microsoft still has not pushed Win10 to my machine. I feel... bereft, abandoned, orphaned. When I click on the little "get windows 10" thingie in the taskbar it tells me they are preparing a Win10 just for me and I should get it in a week or two. It has been saying that since August. So... what is there about a 5930 processor and a couple of 290X vid cards that's so hard to understand? I would download it on my own, but since this "new new" version is coming out I guess I can wait and see if Microsoft knows I'm alive. At least I think I am. No... I think THEREFORE I am or something like that. Whatever... has anyone else been passed over by Microsoft for Win10?

I didn't bother with waiting and downloaded the Microsoft media creation tool which handled the process of upgrading to Windows 10 really well.

My Chrome has about 20 or so add-ons and isn't slow.
and you are comparing it to what? trust me, your chrome is slower than normal unless you have 20 addons that do nothing.

OK, I'll play...what addons do you have that "do something" and that you can prove are what is slowing it down?

Chrome works fine on both my Windows machine from work, 3 laptops at home that are Windows machines, 2 MacBook Pros and a Chromebook. To add further credence, it's not just on my Google account that it works. Both family members and co-workers have the same experience on their profiles. I do IT support for all of them and not one has complained about Chrome being slow.

My Lenovo Y560p has also been skipped for the windows 10 upgrade.

Wow there seem to be a lot of negative comments for the people that have issues with Windows 10. I have tried Windows 10 twice and have removed Windows 10 twice. The reasons..

No 1. I was playing with Arduino and Windows 10 somehow broke Java so no Arduino editor.

No 2. My USB devices started working intermittently or not at all.

No 3. The No App installed message coming up regularly.

Now my solution for some of this was to buy Windows 2012 server (To run SQL Server 2014) for my alternate desktop and go back to Windows 7 on my primary desktop. My laptop still has not received any notification that it is upgradeable to Windows 10. I have to say however if it was working 100% I would stay with it. I quite liked Windows 10 and even tho I use Chrome and IE I really liked Edge. I believe that due to my Hardware being older I will have to wait and buy new machines to get a flawless windows 10 experience which is what I had to do when Vista came out.

Just a quick note I am tied to Windows as I work with SQL Server and Game on Windows, I did not like Windows 8 or 8.1 however I loved Windows 7. I was very happy with the UI changes MS made to Windows 10 however Windows 10 is not usable for me and yes I did go to the trouble of trying to resolve the aforementioned issues. If my laptop was upgradeable I would be working through running Windows 10 on that as it is not critical to what I am working on, but that is not an option.

Yeah I did that as soon as 10 was released... Unfortunately Windows 10 in that incarnation did not work at all on my laptop or primary PC which is in line with Microsofts comments.

Sounds more like a winter update;).
Are we gonna see extensions for Edge yet? Or is that still a little way off?
Been using it on my Surface 3 for the past month, works so much better than Chrome and Firefox IMO.

I know someone who had a similar issue. It was fixed by running the windows repair function from the disk image on a USB drive. Might be worth a try?
