Windows 10 release set for this summer in 190 countries; say hi to "Windows Hello"

that is the funny about your question, years ago I had computers I ran for10 to 12 years, and am building one now I intend to run that long. at tat point I may be old enough I do not want to see a computer again.
That is pretty long. This site is going to be a poor representation of the longevity of computers since we tend to build/upgrade on a faster cycle than the general public.

Why does everyone keep talking about a subscription model and update fees? It's not like Windows is the company's only product. It'd make sense to give it away for free (at least to home users). Basically it's a conduit to endless other revenue streams from selling developer software, bing, xbox, office, and everything else MS has in its portfolio.
I hate to use a crApple reference, but it's like giving iTunes away for free so that people are coerced to buy content from iTunes and use inferior hardware like iPads/Pods/Phones/macs.

They better leave the option of just using a password. There are plenty of sneaky people out there who could get your fingerprints and facial scanning for stuff. We're just asking hackers to get even more personal and I'm so not for it.
