Windows 2000 Blue screen error {Registry File Failure}

Hie Eveyone

I am new here ,and i would also like to take this opportunity to say hie to everyone .
My machine runs on Windows 2000 , and it was just working fine until yesterday. It boots fine and when it is still loading windows a blue screen error occurs with the following message :stop: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The Registry cannot load the hive(file) :\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SECURITY or its log or alternate .Itis corrupt ,absentor not writtable.

Please help me .

Sounds like a problem with your hard drive. Run chkdsk (checkdisk) from My Computer, right click on the C drive and select tools
